Snow fun like shoveling

Shoveling snow in Sandpoint, ID is so much joyForecasted snow brings squeals of delight from children and adults. Giddy with excitement, we prepare to participate in our favorite winter time activity: snow shoveling. There are a few things you’ll need to enjoy your time spent outdoors shoveling. The first, and most important, is a good snowfall.

You will also need good winter clothing – gloves, hat, boots, snow suit or warm jeans, jacket – as well a sturdy shoveling equipment. We recommend at least two shovels. One should be a “plow” shovel, and the other should be of the ergonomic design. You may also want to have kid-sized shovels, as shoveling snow can be a family activity. Once you are appropriately dressed and well equipped, it’s time to “dig in!”

Two shovels for the job, it's the only way

Which brings me to my next point: The Snow Shoveling Method. It’s important to have a game plan put together before you start shoveling, so that you don’t end up with berms in the middle of the driveway or some other undesirable location. It’s best to shovel to the sides of your driveway. We like to use our plow shovel to push snow into a small berm, and then, using the ergonomic shovel, move that berm off the driveway.

Bundling up doesn't mean you can't strut your stuff

Snow shoveling is a free activity, and you can usually do it right on your own driveway. If you don’t have a driveway and would like to participate in this, please contact us and we will provide you directions to our house.

The distance is deceivingGood work, ma ... the driveway's done
