Each year during the winter carnival Eichardt’s holds it’s annual K-9 Keg Pull. This was the first year I had gone, but I have always wanted to go, I just had never made it to the event. The Keg Pull starts at 10am, so my friends and I showed up about 10 minutes early. We [...]

Pend d’ Oreille Bay Trail - Sandpoint
On a breezy fall day my family and I decided to take a walk along the shoreline of Lake Pend ‘d Oreille near the train station. We drove past The Seasons, giving a friendly wave to the security guard as we passed (the road is a public right away so there is no reason to stop) and found a gravel parking lot just past the water treatment building. Health and Wellness in Sandpoint, Idaho
From the chair behind my booth, I had a good view of two kids storming Schweitzer’s climbing tower, a batch of future acrobats taking advantage of the Funtastics tumbling station, and a group of ersatz drunks exhorting each other through the “beer-goggles” course. Sandpoint’s first annual Community Health and Wellness Fair was in full swing, and the turnout looked pretty good.
Picking Huckleberries in the Mountains — Sandpoint, Idaho
They have a certain je ne sais quois that I will either pay $40 a gallon for or walk around a hillside all day in the heat with mosquitoes dive-bombing my head to get.
